3 Ways You May Be Your Own Worst Enemy

Are your business challenges keeping you up at night?

Maybe the problem isn’t just the business.

Here are some of the most common ways you may act as your own worst enemy.

1.     NOT TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST

Contractors often end up working long days without breaks. Unfortunately, working from dusk till dawn takes a toll on your physical and mental wellbeing.

One way to avoid such long hours is to plan the day in advance. Having an agenda for the day puts you in control of your schedule and ensures you have enough time to do everything (including eating lunch!)

We understand that unexpected issues arise daily in your line of work, however, being prepared for most of your day will help it run more smoothly.

2.     IGNORING WORK-LIFE BALANCE

You didn’t start a business so you could work 80 hours a week. Yet, that’s what a lot of us end up doing.

It sounds backwards, but you’re actually hurting your business by working all the time. You’re not putting in the quality of work your clients expect or putting your energy into the right things to grow your business.

One solution is to try to carve out some time with your family, friends, or focus on your hobbies. Being consumed by work around the clock makes you forget why you ever wanted to own a business.

PCS can take so many “busy work” tasks off your shoulders so you can focus on more important aspects in not only your business, but also your life!

3.     NEGLECTING TO DELEGATE

How often do you think, “it’ll be easier just to do this myself?” or “by the time I teach you to do this I could just have it done.” That type of thinking is what leads to those long days, weeks, months, and years!

THIS IS IMPORTANT…You need to slow down now just for a few minutes to train someone exactly how you do these “tasks” that are weighing you down. When you look at the big picture, training someone to help you will be worth its weight in gold.

You won’t remember the few minutes you lost to train, but you will be shocked with how much time you can stop wasting by delegating those tasks.

Delegating tasks lets you focus on what you do best, so you can grow your business.

At Precision Contractor Solutions, we help you keep your schedule full and your customers happy.
